If you thought yachts were only for businessmen and
playboys, think again. Adriana Lima has helped cement her status as one of the
most highly paid models in the world by reportedly purchasing a ‘mini-spuer-yacht
for a cool $1 million.
Brazilian born Lima was the third highest paid model this
year according to Forbes and reportedly earned $7.3 million in 2011. Lime is
best known as the Victoria’s Secret Angel model and as the spokesperson for
Maybelline cosmetics. Her career started when she was only 15 years old and won
Ford’s Supermodel of Brazil competition.
Her career so far has spanned everything from lingerie to
cosmetics and a little acting. She became the only celebrity to star in two
superbowl commercials in February 2012, when she promoted both Teleflora and
Kia motors.
Unlike some other well known supermodels, her personal life
is relatively quiet, as she is married with two children and has very little
controversy surrounding her. The main criticism she has experienced is after
she explained her diet regimen in an interview, saying she only drinks protein
shakes for nine days before a show. She has defended her statements, saying she
applies an athlete’s mind for these events, and returned to a normal diet at
other times.
