Victoria’s Secret have announced that the headline acts for this year’s fashion show will be Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy. Previous acts to have been featured include: Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Ruhanna, Kaye West and Nicki Minaj.
Taylor Swift is not the most obvious choice, with her polite, girl next door image and fashion style that usually consists of sundresses and cowboy boots. She’s said to be impeccably polite and to take her responsibility as a role model seriously. Her career has been impressive, breaking many records as the youngest person to achieve career miletones. At 24, she has already had a more successful career than many other well-known artists.
Victoria’s Secret is the largest American retailer of Lingerie, founded back in 1977. It’s products include lingerie, toiletries, fragrances, swimwear and even classical music CDs.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show first began in 1995, with the aim of leading the growth of lingerie into mainstream entertainment. The show is broadcast on live TV and features some of the world’s most famous fashion models. In 2011, the budget for the show was $12 million.
Other bands that will be performing at the show alongside Taylor Swift are: Fall Out Boy, Neon Jungle and A Great Big World.
